Professional Bio

I’m a Ph.D. candidate in Experimental Psychology at the University of Alabama, where I also earned my Master’s degree in December 2024. I’m also a proud first-generation college graduate that received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with a minor in Religion, from Ashland University in 2020.

My passion for improving the reliability and inclusivity of psychological science has shaped both my academic and professional path. During my Post Bacc, I served as Assistant Director of Ashland University’s International Collaboration Research Center, where I coordinated global research efforts and mentored student researchers. I’ve also been a part of the Psychological Science Accelerator (PSA) since its early days in 2017. I started by managing PSA communications, organizing conferences, and supporting data collection efforts, and I now serve as a Co-Director, helping lead the organization toward more engagement, diversity, and efficiency.

My research broadly explores how people think about science and scientists, including the factors that shape trust and engagement. I’m especially interested in how students and researchers learn to recognize and respond to questionable research practices, and how we can better teach responsible research methods at all levels of education. Through this work, I aim to support a healthier, more transparent scientific culture. In the long run, I want to help build a field that’s not just more rigorous and reproducible, but also more reflective, collaborative, and inclusive. I believe better science begins with better systems, and I’m committed to improving both.

Personal Bio

Outside of research and teaching, I recharge through all things creative and chaotic. I love painting, drawing,  baking, designing websites, singing in my kitchen, or getting too emotionally invested in whatever nerdy show I’m bingeing at the moment. I dance around my apartment, hike when I can, and find a lot of joy in being in or around the water.

My hair is colorful (but strategically so). I keep the bright streaks in the middle so I can flip between business mode and creative chaos depending on the vibe. It’s not just a style choice, it’s a reflection of how I move through the world:  grounded, intentional, and unapologetically myself. I’m just a Midwestern girlie learning and growing in the academic atmosphere.

That same mindset guides how I show up in the spaces I care about. Whether I’m co-directing a research organization or teaching in the classroom, I prioritize inclusion, accessibility, and authenticity. At the end of the day, I believe people do their best work when they feel like they belong, and I try to build that kind of environment wherever I go.
